It took almost 12 months of wonderful knit ins, promotion and planning but the day finally arrived.

The weather leading up had not been kind to us at all and to be honest, when I looked out my window on Saturday morning and conferred with my family we had agreed that the entire event should go indoors. I approached the oval and another team member was there we stood and thought - should we just take the risk? Thankfully someone who has lived in the village a lot longer than both of us combined assured us it wasn't going to rain so we should go outdoors - and so we did!

We had 5 stalls outside of the hall and they were good old fashioned lollies (remember toffees, coconut ice, fudge and peanut brittle?), Tombola - which I had never heard of but it a raffle where there are a lot of prizes, in our case almost 50! We had Treasure Hunt for our younger members of the community and jam, pickle and cake stall (which was very very popular).

We also had a produce store where people brought items from their gardens to sell like herbs, lemons, strawberry plants, flowers.

The weather Gods smiled upon us and there was no rain, a very light breeze and at times some glorious sun!

This ensured we got a great turnout of people to the main attraction - the cozies!

Here is the Hall - the amount of people in the Hall was amazing and it was like this for hours!

As well as this we had a Cafe selling hot food and a Tea Room selling cream teas (A CWA event wouldn't be right with Scones Jam & Cream would it?), and we offered leaf tea made in tea pots plus plunger coffee as well cakes.

Everyone was well catered for!

As you can see from the amount of funds we raised it was an outstanding event!
